A List to Fill You Up this Thanksgiving

ree

I know you have a list staring you down right now. Because I do, too: What to bring or what to buy, what to deliver and what to pick up…. This season of Thanksgiving and Christmas--with all the joys and celebration—can also bring stress that drains you dry. Especially for the average woman.

But here’s a short to-do list that will fill you up!

  1. Remember you’re not Superwoman, and no one expects you to be. Determine your limits and delegate, or tell people some things just won’t happen. Be realistic and give yourself permission to enjoy your family and friends.

  2. Remember that God made us perfectly as limited creatures. Embrace your limits as a GOOD thing. When you hit that wall, it’s a reminder to go to your Creator (who is limit-less). He listens and delights to help His children (though not always in the way we think). Keep seeking Him, and you’ll find answers and help.

  3. When stress hits, try this: 1) Stop for two minutes. 2) Breathe deeply. 3) Hear God say: “Be still and know that I am God (not you, My dear daughter) Let Me carry your burden”.

  4. Meditate on two things: Think of one way someone has blessed you, and one way you have blessed someone else. Let yourself enjoy the feeling of gratitude.

Now, before you say, ‘You don’t understand how busy I am, and all these people looking to me to me for this list…”, I DO get it. (I’ve raised five kids, have work and ministry and a busy husband, and all the rest.) Just remember, YOU also need, and deserve, to experience the gift of gratitude, peace and joy just like everyone you’re running around for.

So, this is for all you fellow list-makers out there, doing all you do to care for your family, community and country. Our team is eternally grateful for all of you, our friends, subscribers and supporters! Our Call To Action Update “Action Items” this week is a list to enjoy and consider adding to your family celebration.

Thank YOU, for all you do and who you are as America’s Women—and Arizona Women of Action! ~ Kim
