Does Your Church Serve Their Neighbors by Encouraging Voting?

Christians are called to love God, and to love their neighbors as themselves. One of the most impactful ways to love your neighbors is to advance good laws and leaders who promote human flourishing according to God’s love and truth. If we are silent in politics, then we have no way of doing that. And voting informed is the simplest way of honoring God’s call. If people of faith would take just a little time to get informed and vote God’s values, we would transform culture for good.

This message isn’t only for Christians. Every person lives according to a ‘faith’—even atheists. And in America, each citizen has the privilege and responsibility to bring our mind, heart and faith to the conversation. But sadly, many Christians believe a lie that they should be silent when it comes to choosing leaders who will impact every ‘neighbor’ in their city, state and nation. These are critical decisions that impact generations. It’s past time that Christians get free from the propaganda that keeps them muzzled. God cares about politics because He cares about everything. If we follow God, then we’re obligated to at least vote. It’s about stewardship.

Studies have shown that roughly 40% of church-attending Christians do not vote. That means mass numbers of faithful people are either uninformed or distracted. They may just need a friend like you to encourage them.
