The Chance Your ‘Commonsense’ Friends Will Vote?
If you’re like me, I bet you have a handful of text chains with friends and family who have common sense. You share laughs and good times together. You look at the world with a similar mindset, and you all agree that America is at a real tipping point into dangerous waters of insanity and tyranny.
Now look at a chain of 10 of those commonsense friends and family. Did you know that statistics say 6 of those 10 friends will NOT VOTE? Why is that? Which ones? It’s up to us to ask our friends if they plan to vote.
And of those faithful voters, a majority don’t vote at all ‘down-ballot’--those offices like City Council and School Board where it impacts most of our everyday lives. A study was just released by the Culture Research Center at Arizona Christian University in conjunction with iVoterGuide. One important point in the report: The reason people don’t vote in local races is information, not apathy. A lack of trusted sources to make informed choices is the reason many don’t vote.
Dr. George Barna points out, these "down-ballot" seats are far from throwaway roles. School boards, city councils, judgeships, and county offices routinely shape daily life more directly than the high-profile races that dominate the headlines, yet they're decided by a strikingly small share of voters.
