Reality Wins! Let’s Use it for Good!

On June 30th light shined, and a healthy breath of reality lifted Americans when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled —unanimously, no less—that states CAN lawfully exclude transgender athletes from women’s and girls’ sports teams. The Scoreboard in this meme should actually read, “REALITY 9 - DELUSION 0”.

All Justices agreed in this case that laws enacted by Idaho and West Virginia protecting female sports do not violate federal civil rights laws. Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote that “[c]onsistent with Title IX and the Equal Protection Clause, we hold that the States may maintain women’s and girls’ sports for biological females. They may determine eligibility for women’s and girls’ sports based on biological sex. The Constitution and Title IX do not require an overhaul of women’s and girls’ sports throughout America.”

The fact is, Title IX was enacted in 1972 to ensure equal opportunities for women and girls in education. Its very intent to protect biological females would be made a mockery if biological males are allowed to enter sports for girls and women. It’s pure biology—XX or XY. If males can compete in female sports, gone are the opportunities, enjoyment and safety of sports that women are entitled to under the law.

We tried to tell this to the District Judge in Arizona when AZ Women of Action and three moms filed a motion to intervene in Arizona’s Save Women’s Sports Law in 2023. We were ultimately denied at the Ninth Circuit Court (but not before we had the chance to speak up for women and for sanity). Meanwhile, the two biological boys in that case were still playing against girls in Arizona…until now.

Because of this SCOTUS decision, a headline reads, Transgender Student Drops Challenge To Arizona’s Save Women’s Sports Act.

Like I said, this is a welcome breath of reality--and common sense. But don’t miss this significant opportunity to TELL PEOPLE the reasons we must always stand with TRUTH—in Love and compassion. (Compassion without Truth = Abuse.)

Too many of our women friends are confused by this. They fall for lies. And in reality (there’s that word again), they are hurting the very people they say they care about. Their natural gift of compassion has been weaponized against them, and they don’t realize it. Even our own AZ Attorney General—a woman! (Kris Mayes)--refused to defend Arizona’s Save Women’s Sports law, which is why we had to motion to intervene.

We wrote a blog in 2023 that explains: Why Don’t More Women Take a Stand for Girls?

Why not face reality and start asking real questions. WHY are these girls and boys suffering? Loathing themselves to the point of wanting to change their very biology? One large US adolescent survey found 73% of transgender adolescents reported psychological abuse, 39% reported physical abuse, and 19% reported sexual abuse, with higher odds of each type of abuse compared to ‘cisgender’ adolescents.

Rather than making these adolescents a political pawn, lets offer real compassion and help them find real healing and thrive as they were created? Dig into the causes of their suffering.

This is a thought-provoking piece by therapist, Pamela Garfield-Jaeger. She writes, “Transgender is a Symptom: Like a fever that signals an underlying infection, a transgender identity often points to something deeper that deserves attention and exploration.”

Today we have hope. Even the United Nations acknowledged reality in a press release by one of their contributing experts: US Supreme Court Ruling Safeguards Women’s and Girls’ Sports.

"The experiences of women and girls who have lost places on teams, podium positions, scholarships and opportunities deserve to be heard and taken seriously," writes Reem Alsalem. “Numerous female athletes, coaches and parents who participated in the proceedings described the psychological, material and long-term harms experienced by women and girls when compelled to compete against males in female sporting categories.”

"Protecting women's and girls' sport is not discriminatory," Alsalem said. "It is a necessary measure to guarantee substantive equality and to preserve one of the most significant achievements for women's rights of the last half century."

So now let’s do OUR PART while we have this cultural moment of common sense, and people talking about this important issue.

VOTE! Get your friends & family to vote. Elect the candidates who WILL defend common sense reality and the law. Be ready to speak up to state legislators, educational institutions and sporting bodies. They need to hear FROM women, FOR women and girls, standing for equality, fairness, safety and dignity. Let’s make sure the Supreme Court decision is applied in every state in America.
